O'Giss Park
O'Gliss Park is an extraordinary water park that will open its doors in June 2016. The idea is to create an oasis of greenery and a Mediterranean atmosphere so that visitors can enjoy both the attractions and the natural setting, where they can relax in the shade of the palm trees or dine in a tapas bar or traditional restaurant.
Attractions: something for everyone...
- An area reserved for 0-12 year olds with aquaplash, water pistols...
- A 10-slide area to the north and a wave pool.
- River Corner: with float trips to suit all abilities
Château des Aventuriers
Less than 10 minutes from our campsite, in the commune of Avrillé, plan a fun outing to the Château des Aventuriers. This amusement and leisure park will take you into a fun and interactive world. In the shoes of an adventurer, you'll be... And through a series of games and puzzles in search of the magic medallion, you'll travel back in time (dinos and prehistory), unless you prefer to follow in the footsteps of the Captain Hook and imagine yourself in the shoes of a pirate.
Automobile Museum
Talmont Saint Hilaire (12km from Les Sables d'Olonne)
And here you are, immersed in the history of the automobile! A magnificent collection dating back to 1885 with a De Dion Bouton vehicle, an exceptional piece. The history of the car is divided into 4 sections representing the different developments. It's a wonderful journey through the world of the car, through the ages and the various technical advances.
If you're a motor sport enthusiast, or even if you're not, we strongly recommend that you bring the whole family along. Let yourself be rocked by the stream of vehicles of every colour, shape and performance on paper.
Le Cairn - Prehistory centre
Saint Hilaire la Forêt (5km away)
Prehistory for all ages, to be visited with the whole family, or with the eminent members of your tribe!
The Musée du Cairn is a lively, educational and fun museum. Take a step back in time to the land of megaliths. You'll find a number of beautiful exhibition rooms displaying objects from different eras, but all linked to the real lives of our ancestors! You won't want to miss the fire and hunting demonstrations. Discover the true Homo Sapiens within you. Exciting tours await you, as well as a beautiful museum and a shop where you can buy a few souvenirs to take back to your far-flung civilised lands!
Georges Clemenceau's house
Saint Vincent sur Jard (3 km away)
Discover the statesman and, more precisely, the man himself, without artifice, and how he lived some beautiful moments in this holiday resort and perhaps a place of meditation? A very special atmosphere emanates from the premises, and although the man is no longer with us, the house and garden speak for themselves and tell the story of this brilliant man, who was sometimes controversial but who made no concessions or detours! Tours of the house and garden are organised to help you understand the man and his different facets. Everyday objects are laid out on the furniture, almost giving the impression that Georges Clémenceau dropped them only a few minutes ago and that he could reappear at any moment.
Espace des Records
Aubigny (26 km away)
The Espace des Records in Aubigny is an unusual place, unique in France, that will not leave you indifferent. The smallest object will arouse your curiosity by its unusual size or its tenfold functionality. Sometimes you'll feel very big, but mostly you'll feel very small when faced with very, very big, even gigantic, everyday objects. Gigantic is a word you'll hear a lot during your visit. As you can see, it's essential that your children take part. It's not a museum, it's an interactive space where your toddlers can put themselves in a situation, touch the objects and put themselves "inside"!
A change of scenery for the whole family!
Shell Museum
Sables d'Olonne
What could be more natural than to visit the largest private collection of shellfish in Europe when you come to the seaside in the Vendée? Come and discover this magnificent collection, the fruit of a lifetime's work! Shapes as extraordinary as they are surprising, colours as diverse as they are varied, sizes ranging from tiny to gigantic. Nature does things well, and in the world of shells, let's just say she's let herself go a bit wild!
You'll be amazed by the power and inventiveness of Mother Nature.
Get ready to hear the names of shellfish you've never heard of before: porcelain cones, nautiluses, clams, melo amphora and much more!
