  • Musée Automobile (Motor Museum)
    Talmont St Hilaire
    Come and see the museum’s motor collection which was started in 1939. The passion of one family for all things mechanical has allowed more than 200 vehicles to be salvaged (cars, cycles, motor bikes, xxxxx) as well as futuristic proto types. 160 of the vehicles are displayed in a 3,330 m² hall, completely decorated with an exceptional collection of posters and advertising boards of the period. See the replica of the first garage (1929) of the collection’s creator, Gaston GIRON. Each year we add newly restored models from our workshops to the collection.

  • LE CAIRN – Centre de la préhistoire (The Cairn – prehistoric centre)

    The museum is made up of 3 exhibition halls covering 350m² and 1 park brought to life by passionate and funny performers who will help you to learn about the prehistoric era. The Cairn is a living museum welcoming you to the world of megaliths in both an entertaining and educational way! Either with family or friends, come and take part in a number of activities; pottery & jewellery workshops, fire or hunting demonstrations…come and be a real Homo Sapiens !

  • Maison de Georges Clemenceau (Home of George Clemenceau)
    St Vincent sur Jard
    In full glory, the “Victory Father”, retired from political life in 1919 and he came here to recharge his batteries for the last 10 years of his life. Between the ocean and his rented fisherman’s cottage, George Clemenceau won a bet with his great friend Claude Monet by creating an “Impressionist garden” on the dune. Three types of garden envelop the cottage: an impressionism inspired garden in front of the house, overlooking the sea is also known as “The Flowering Terrace”; a pointillism inspired shrub garden to the east (the tops of the small shrubs, trimmed into points, sway in the breeze); and finally, an “English” garden to the north, also called “The Flowering Yard”.
    Opening hours : from 15 May to 15 September, open every day from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

  • Espace des Records (House of Records)
    Aubigny
    Enter the world of the gigantic and unusual. The House of Records will transport you to the “Universe of the Outrageous”. It’s a fantastic and extraordinary stroll around some 50 everyday objects, which are witness to past traditional craftsman’s expertise and pushed to the extreme in these oversized displays. Each of these working models is in the Guinness Book of Records. Come and share the passion of the craftsmen who created these magnificent pieces from natural and noble materials (wood, leather, wicker, cane, straw, horse hair…)

  • Muséum du coquillage (Seashell Museum)
    Les Sables d’Olonne
    Tropical seashells from around the world, displayed in glass cases. A private collection, unique in Europe as much for the quality of the display pieces as for the richness, diversity and number of them. You will also see corals, stuffed crustaceans, sea urchins, sponges, star fish…2 recreational activities for children.
